Class FAQs

Q: When are the Classes?

Please check on timetable for all class times and venue information.

Q:I am Pregnant, can i attend the classes?

Depending on your conception history, Pilates and Friday Yin Yoga classes are ideal for pregnancy aswell as the Pre natal/Birth Preparation classes.  However, please email me sadhana@sadhanayoga.co.uk so I can best advise you.

Q:What do I wear?

Anything that the body can move freely in such as jogging pants, shorts, lycra tops. You may want to bring a jumper/blanket for relaxation.

Q:Can I just pay as I go?

Most classes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays are drop in, so no need to book.

Q:How long should I wait after I have eaten to do Yoga/Pilates?

Some Yogis say wait at least 4 hours before doing an yoga pratice, but I think at least 2 hours should be ok. This is mainly because as we are using a lot of the stomach muscles with twisting, forward and backbends you may feel uncomfortable and even nauseas. It’s best to practice on an empty stomach as the body functions with more ease if it is not also busy digesting food.

If you are diabetic or have blood sugar problems then bring some fruit juice or some mints with you.

Q:What about smoking and other substances?

If you smoke, try not to at least 2 hours before class.

Never attempt Yoga/Pilates while under the influence of alcohol, drugs (incl. prescribed drugs), which may alter your ability, to stay alert to your physical capacities and could result in injury.

Q:I have never done any Yoga/Pilates before, is it ok to attend your classes?

YES. All my classes are suitable for all persons from beginners to experienced practitioners. It is more important to listen to your body. Every day your body will have a different endurance level and your Yoga/Pilates practice will help to increase your awareness of the body. Never be afraid or embarrassed to come out of a posture before others especially if you are feeling pain or discomfort.

If you feel ill or faint at any time, stop and rest.

Take water if you need to.

Take responsibility for your own action.
